History made.
Last week, Stretford Paddock FC proudly fielded our first-ever all-female team at Manchester FA’s Recreational Football Festival in Trafford. A first step but a significant one.
Following that milestone moment, we’re thrilled to confirm that Stretford Paddock Women will officially compete in the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League for the 2025/26 season. This is a move that has been long in the works, planned with care, and now launched with belief.
We aren’t doing this to tick a box. And we aren’t doing it for optics.
We’re doing it because we believe in the power of football. In inclusion. In opportunity. In equality.
The team will be coached by Meg Stapleton, a current grassroots manager, academy coach at Manchester United, and former player with Stockport County and Curzon Ashton. With a five-year development plan already in place, Meg brings passion, vision, and the coaching pedigree to build something truly special.
This isn’t a sideline project. The women’s team is and always will be core to what Stretford Paddock stands for.
