AFC Oldham vs Stretford Paddock FC Lookahead

Stretford Paddock are coming off a loss against high flying De La Salle Reds and they are looking to put things right and regain momentum against AFC Oldham on the weekend, a game where the away team should be favoured and should have the quality to get straight back into the win column.

AFC Oldham are floundering at the bottom of the table without a win, losing all four of their league games so far conceding a staggering 21 goals in the process; and against a strong Stretford Paddock side it would be an upset if that was to change.

Stretford Paddock go into this game where nothing less than a win will do, where 3 points would see the lads soar up to 3rd in the league where momentum can be rebuilt and a genuine title charge can be reignited.

The game will be played at Tameside Stadium, Richmond St, Ashton-under-Lyne OL7 9HG if you want to come an support the lads, Kick Off at 2:30pm.

Match Preview: Stretford Paddock vs De La Salle

This weekend marks Stretford Paddock FC’s first home league game of the season as they welcome the high flying De La Salle Reds who have won their opening two games including an emphatic 4-2 victory against Mellor Firsts who ran away league winners in this division last year. A team that also comfortably knocked Paddock out in the quarter finals of Rhode’s Cup last season.

De La Salle Reds should prove a real stern test on the weekend even though the boys are coming into the game in a decent run of form themselves with a win and a draw in the opening two games.

Last season saw Stretford Paddock draw 1-1 against the Reds last season in a hotly contested and highly contested game.

The highlights for that game can be watched here: https://youtu.be/jC5LR6sSBDg

A victory on the weekend would see Stretford Paddock leapfrog De La Selle reds into to second place in the table.

You can head down to watch it as the match will be open to the public at Paddocks new home with kick off being at 2pm @ Nicholls Community Football Centre, Dalberg St, Manchester M12 6BN.

Hopefully Paddock can make a statement, get the victory and start building some momentum for the rest of the season.

Stretford Paddock FC Firsts Move Into Premier Division for 2021/22 Season

For the upcoming 2021/22 league season, Stretford Paddock FC Firsts will now be competing in the Lancashire & Cheshire AFL Premier Division.

After the league campaign was cut short last season, Paddock finished 4th in Division 1 having only played 8 games. However, the league officials were impressed by the team’s efforts in our debut season and believed we deserved to be promoted to the top flight division.

Paddock’s first game in the Premier Division will see us face Moston Brook away from home on the 21st August, another team who has earned the right to move up from Division 1.

We played Moston back in October 2020, a tight affair which saw us lose 3-2. You can watch the highlights from that game here;

In addition to the First team moving up a league, Stretford Paddock Reserves will now compete in the Lancashire & Cheshire AFL Division 2.

Finally, our new Development squad will be competing in the Lancashire & Cheshire AFL Division A.

Everyone at Stretford Paddock FC is relishing in the opportunity so showcase our ability to compete in the Premier Division. Work ahead of the new is well underway and the players and staff can’t wait for the new campaign to kick-off.
