After a frustrating Wednesday evening, Stretford Paddock will be desperate to get back to winning ways against Haydock FC on Saturday. If Paddock can get the win on Saturday, it would would leave them with 7 points from the opening 3 games of the season – a respectable start that they can build on.

It’s going to be tough

After the first two games, only two teams have won both. After a 4-3 loss on Tuesday night against Lymm Rovers, Haydock are one of the many teams finding themselves on 3 points. What is interesting though is that they convincingly beat Mersey Valley, Stretford Paddock’s most recent opponents, 6-2 on the opening day of the season.

There’s no doubt then that this will be a tough game for Paddock. Although they should have come out as victors against Mersey Valley, Haydock will enter Saturday’s fixture with a psychological boost.

Stretford Paddock however, should also enter the weekend with positives in mind. Against Mersey Valley, Debutant, Dom Molloy, impressed with his physicality and technical ability. The new signing has certainly thrown his name into the hat amongst the likes of Kayode Adewale, Cameron Waters and Jon Ogo to be in Saturdays starting 11.

An inspiring man of the match performance from the captain, James Oatt is another big positive and something that should give the Paddock lads belief. Whilst Paddock were doing their very best to break Mersey Valley down, when the ball was thumped away and ran onto by Mersey Valley’s number 9, James was there every time.

Must win

Upton JFC and Bollington Town are the only 2 teams who have got 2 wins from 2 thus far this season. With fixtures against Atherton Laburnum Rovers and Lymm Rovers this weekend (two sides on 3 points), you’d expect the top two clubs to make it 3 wins from 3.

It seems like Upton and Bollington are going to challenge all the way, if Paddock want to be there with them, Saturday’s match is a big one – a must win.

The match is kicking off at 1PM from JMO Sports Park.

Entry is free so feel free to come down and watch!
